Episode 30: The future of Ultimaker Cura and beyond

In this second part of Talking Additive’s focus on Ultimaker Cura – and the Talking Additive Season Three finale! – host Matt Griffin looks at the role Ultimaker Cura currently plays, both in toolchains and with software packages such as Ultimaker Marketplace and Ultimaker Digital Factory.

Ultimaker Cura is an open-source slicing application for 3D printers created by David Braam and continually developed by a dedicated team at Ultimaker, together with its community. It is used by more than 1 million users worldwide and handles 4 million print jobs each week.

Building upon the last episode, which focused on the software’s origins, episode 30 will see Matt speaking with Arjen Dirks, Product Owner, Software, and Roger Bergs, Product Manager, Software, from Ultimaker. They will catch up on recent announcements shared at the Ultimaker Transformation Summit – as well as look at new opportunities, such as enterprise cloud packages, offered to those fully leveraging 3D printing in their toolchains.

Then, researcher Tim Kuipers will join the show for a conversation about the Arachne Library, which aims to introduce new capabilities for slicing into Ultimaker Cura for the benefit of all users.
